Projects Director


Michael Walker is responsible for managing AIMES projects and professionally qualified as a Civil Engineering Land Surveyor (MCICES) with a BA in Law and an MSc in Management Science, Michael has over 30 years’ experience of successfully developing and delivering infrastructure, nuclear, regeneration and ICT projects on time and on budget, funded by EU and UK public funding as well as private sources and has worked in the private, public and not for profit sectors.

After working on major construction projects for Edmund Nuttall, Tarmac and BNFL, Michael developed and marketed specialist survey and construction equipment for international companies Leica and Ingersoll-Rand and acted as a technical expert to the EU for the development of machinery safety legislation.

More recently Michael managed the development of AIMES’ new energy efficient Data Centre In addition to managing the development and operation of AIMES Data Centre infrastructure, he is currently working on diverse funded and commercial projects, primarily involving the effective utilisation of health data, but also including, data centre industry development and transport sector optimsation opportunities.

Michael has published papers on the thermochemical conversion of biomass, energy efficiency in data centres and automating the lifecycle of microservices based applications.
